Penetration gifs

Being made by a division of the same company, its no wonder that World of Warships will use some of the same mechanics that are in World of tanks.

Namely - shell behavior and penetration.

These Wargaming gifs show us what happens and long and short ranges.



At long range - balistic curve is the thing you must keep in mind. Basically your shells start falling down. Thus your best bet is a hit to the deck and superstructure. The armored belt of the hull will likely deflect your shots.

At short range - shells are unlikely to penetrate the hull from above - rather bouncing off or damaging the superstructure.


Armour angle is of course in effect - Needless to say - penetrating hits to the hill will be easier when shooting the other ship's side - not the bow or stern.


Normalization is also in. How many degrees for the various shells? Unknown. We will wait for beta and see for ourselves.
